About Leap Dynamics

Leap Dynamics (callsign LEAP, ICAO LEA) is a multinational freight-forwarding and ACMI carrier headquartered in Salt Lake City. Leap moves equipment and materials for some of the largest air freight operators in the world. We specialize in providing aircraft and flight crews to the worlds largest air freight carriers during peak demand times. Leap flight crews are stationed all over the world ready to respond within 6 hours to any airfield required. Leap Dynamics has a private fleet of nearly 100 aircraft stationed all over the world, ready to help alleviate capacity demands.

Leap Dynamics was founded in 2013. Pilots are welcome to fly anywhere, anytime, on any aircraft. Every leg on the board is a real dispatch: a generated cargo manifest, a load sheet, an operational flight plan, and a PIREP that is able to be filed either by hand or straight out of our in house ACARS client, acarsy. Bring your own simulator, take a flight off the board, and operate it the way the real thing gets operated.

How the operation runs

Leap Dynamics does not assign pilots to a hub. Aircraft are wherever the last leg left them, and crews reposition as needed to the airframe their next assignment needs; the same way a real scheduled freight operation works. The freight board refreshed hourly with the latest available freight, and schedule-backed routes depart at their real weekly times (e.g. FedEx, UPS).

Flying on VATSIM

Leap flights are flown online on VATSIM or offline. We welcome either approach for maximum flexibility.

Status

The site is in active development. The flights board, dispatch, manifests, PIREP filing and the logbook all work end to end. New pilots are welcome to sign up! You do not need to be approved to join the roster.

Data credits

Winds aloft, used for the block times and fuel planning on every dispatched flight, come from Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0), fetched once a day. Route maps are drawn from Natural Earth data, with OpenStreetMap tiles as an optional base (© OpenStreetMap contributors).
